baby it's cold outside

i haven't ever realized how callous i have been, bundling up on cold winter mornings in a knitted sweater and crocheted hat and scarf. and all the while ignoring the needs of my...

JOY to the world

rebecca saw this idea somewhere and insisted we make them.simple enough...we just modge podged the scrapbook paper onto the wooden letters, and put a ribbon on the bell.

darling!
every year our kids have an ornament exchange with their cousins.
i saw something similar on etsy...and put my own spin on it. i adore the way they each seem to have their own personalities!
and thank goodness...none of them broke until their cousins were able to take them home!

whimsical paper trees

i am all about easy and fast projects. crafts that you can do while listening to 4,567 knock-knock jokes, being interrupted by the need to make a snack or change a diaper or eat spoonfuls of frosting while watching "the office".
this is definitely one of them: paper trees
any type of paper, cardstock or regular (i just used some paper from those big christmas scrapbook paper stacks)
cut out half circles (easiest just to cut out circles and then cut them in half )
fold into cone shape and tape. (um...i had a little trouble on how to make a cone shape...maybe it was because i was "laughing" so hard at the hilarious knock-knock jokes that my 4 year old was telling me. they just don't EVER get old...do they? *aaghhh*)
make different sizes and then stack.
see? easy. and i love the way they lean to one side or the other.
